Fairness grade
A letter from A to F worked out from the sealed rules alone, with the formula in full.
Each launch begins with a score of 100, and four checks take points away. The letter depends on the remainder: A 85 and up, B 70 to 84, C 55 to 69, D 40 to 54, F below 40. The site computes it in your browser from the rules the contract returns, so anyone can recompute it by hand.
The four checks
1. Trade fee on the curve (protocol + creator)
| Setting | Deduction |
|---|---|
| 0% | 0 |
| up to 0.5% | −5 |
| up to 1% | −10 |
| up to 1.5% | −15 |
| above 1.5% | −20 |
2. Creator's own fee
| Setting | Deduction |
|---|---|
| 0% | 0 |
| up to 0.25% | −5 |
| up to 0.5% | −10 |
| above 0.5% | −15 |
3. Levy reach = start rate (%) × window (hours)
| Setting | Deduction |
|---|---|
| no levy | 0 |
| up to 10 | −5 |
| up to 60 | −10 |
| up to 300 | −15 |
| above 300 | −20 |
4. Largest single buy
| Setting | Deduction |
|---|---|
| up to 1% of supply | 0 |
| up to 3% | −5 |
| up to 10% | −10 |
| above 10% | −20 |
Why these checks
Fees are a cost on every trade, so lower scores higher. The creator's own fee is counted separately because it is the part that pays the person who made the launch. The levy protects against racing the launch block, but it also makes everyone who buys early pay more, so a long or steep levy costs points. A buy cap stops one wallet from grabbing the bulk of supply in a single transaction; a wide cap or none costs points. The cap can be dodged with several wallets, which is why it only moves the score so far.
The starting rule sets
| Rule set | Grade | Score |
|---|---|---|
| First Hour | B | 75 |
| Slow Thaw | C | 60 |
| Bare | A | 90 |
| Creator Share | C | 60 |
Scores above use the proposed protocol fee of 0.50%.
What a grade does not say
A grade describes how the rules treat buyers. It cannot tell you if the token will hold any value, whether the project behind it is real, or what the creator will do with tokens they bought. An A-graded token can still go to zero.
